dr. Bjorn De Neef

Dr. Björn De Neef was born on 26/12/1976 in Dendermonde. He is married and father of Mauro. From 1994 to 2001 he studied medicine (with high distinction) at the Free University of Brussels. He attended the academic year 1997-1998 at the Université Libre in Lausanne (CH). From 2001 to 2004 he studied dentistry (with distinction), also at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He then specialized for 4 years in Stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (led by Prof. Dr. G. Wackens), for which he obtained his national recognitions in 2006 and 2008.

In 2008 and 2009 he did additional fellowships in Freiburg (D), Swansea (UK) and Antwerp (led by Prof. Dr. E. Fossion ) for endoscopic assisted surgery, orthognathic, reconstructive and oncological Maxillofacial surgery, respectively.

From 2009 to 2015 he worked at AZ Zeno in Knokke-Heist, Blankenberge and Maldegem. He gained a lot of experience in preprosthetic and implant surgery.

Since April 1, 2015, Dr. Björn De Neef works full-time in AZ Oudenaarde as head of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In November 2019, the service was expanded with 2 more Maxillofacial colleagues: Dr. Thomas Declerck and Dr. Veerle Claeys.

For several years now, Dr. Björn De Neef is also an internship supervisor for UZ Gent and UZ Brussel and thus guides students and (free) assistants during their internships. He also contributes to scientific research and publications, mainly on AMSJIs (see ‘Treatments’).
